The LIMSC aims to bring together a wide variety of medically related subjects, with the exception of dentistry. All students who have carried out research during their studies in the field of (bio)medicine and who wish to present their results at the LIMSC, are invited to apply by sending in an abstract.

 

The secretary of the Organizing Committee will check the format and spelling of the submitted abstracts. If there are errors, the abstract will be returned to the applicant for correction. The criteria for abstract submission can be found at Abstract Criteria. After receiving your corrected version the Program Committee will evaluate and select the abstracts based on their quality.

A total of 200 abstracts will be selected to present their research at LIMSC 2011, which will be invited for an oral or poster presentation. The top 120 applicants will be invited to give an 8-minute oral presentation. The remaining 80 applicants will be invited to give a 4-minute poster presentation.

Furthermore travel grants and prize money will be awarded. Travel grants are only granted to the invited participants. The top presentations (oral or poster) will be awarded with prize money up to €1500.

Applicants whose abstracts are not selected will be notified and invited to participate in the LISMC as visitors. We help with organizing visa for presenting participants.

The LIMSC is open to anyone who is interested. As a visitor you can participate in all parts of the programme - attend the presentations of the student researchers, learn about international research and possibly obtain ideas for your own project. At the Career and Internship Fair you can explore potential career opportunities by talking to representatives from medically-related organizations, and to universities presenting a variety of Master's programmes, research projects and internships.

Together the combination of the presentations, the social programme and the workshops and lectures by prominent international speakers guarantee that LIMSC will be not only an inspiring conference, but also an unforgettable experience.
