What is the maximum length my abstract can be?

Your abstract cannot contain more than 2500 characters. 

What does the program look like?

The program will include oral and poster presentations of the active participants, guest lectures by international prominent speakers, a social program and a Career and Internship Fair. For more information see our program page.

When is registration at the conference open?

You will be able to register on Wednesday March 13th from 12:00-17:00, Thursday March 14th 08:00-16:00, Friday March 15th from 08:00-17:00 and Saturday March 16th from 08:00-12:00.

Will I be sent an invoice of my payment to the conference?

Invoices will be sent to participants who request this.

Can I request a roommate for the hotel accommodation?

Yes, please leave the name of the person you would like to share a room with in the 'Special remarks' section in your registration form. If you have accidentally skipped this step, then please email us regarding the details. Please make sure that both you and your roommate make the necessary payments on time. Do know we cannot guaranty that you will be put with your roommate because all room division is done by the hotels. 

Is it possible for you to send me the book of abstracts if I have not received it/lost it/ forgot it at the conference?

No, this is not possible. Please ensure you have a copy of the book of abstracts before you leave our conference.

Is it possible for a co-author to present my research, if I am unable to attend?

This is possible. Please email us with your registration ID number, title of your abstract and the name of the person who will be presenting it.

Are my parents/friends/colleagues etc. allowed to attend?

Yes, they are more than welcome to visit our conference as passive participants. Please see here for more information about passive registration.

Can I submit a case report?

No, this is not possible. Please see the criteria for abstract submission on our ‘important information for actives’ page. 

What is the best way to come to Leiden?

Please book your flight ticket to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. From here, you can take a train to Leiden Central Station, which will take about 15 minutes. A train from Schiphol to Leiden will leave about every 15 minutes. A single ticket will cost you €5,90 and can be bought at the airport upon arrival.

You can also book a flight ticket to Eindhoven Airport (if this is cheaper for you). From here, you have to take a bus to Eindhoven Central Station. This will take you about 20 minutes and will cost you around €3. From there, you can take a train to Leiden Central Station, which will take about 2 hours. A single ticket will cost you €20,40.

When exactly will I have to present my research?

You will be expected to present on Friday March 15th or Saturday March 16th 2019. We will notify you later about the exact day and time of your presentation.

Is the accommodation far from the conference location?

LIMSC offers a limited number of room in the IBIS hotel Leiden. This is within walking distance (5 minutes) to the Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC) and the central train station (2 minutes). For some participants the location is Tullip INN Leiden, this is also walking distance from the LUMC.

Will my abstract be published?

Yes, we will publish all abstracts in our book of abstracts. If you would not like to have your abstract published, then please email us with the details of your abstract.

Can you help me arrange a Visa?

LIMSC helps active participants by sending an official confirmation of participation. With this letter it is possible to arrange a Visa at the Dutch embassy. Please visit our Visa page for more information. Passive participants can also apply for help with arranging a Visa.

Will passive participants get a certificate of attendance as well?

Yes. These will be emailed to you after the conference. Also Active participants will be send certificates by email afterwards.

Can our company participate in the Career and Internship Fair?

At the Career and Internship Fair medical and biomedical students can find information about other medical conferences, internships, educational and employment opportunities in the Netherlands and abroad. By taking part in this Career and Internship Fair, your company will be able to inform students about possible internship and career opportunities.
