The Leiden International Medical Student Conference invites bachelor’s students, master’s students, PhD candidates, and young researchers from around the world to submit an abstract for LIMSC 2027.
LIMSC offers young researchers the opportunity to present their work to an international audience, exchange ideas with peers and professionals, and compete for oral presentation, digital poster presentation, and theme-based awards. The conference welcomes submissions from a broad range of fields within medicine, biomedical sciences, pharmacy, medical technology, public health, and related disciplines.
Abstract submission opens on 1 September 2026 and closes on 15 November 2026 at 23:59 CET. Acceptance notifications will be sent on 5 January 2027.
All abstracts must be submitted through the official online abstract submission platform. Abstracts submitted by email, post, or PDF upload will not be accepted. During submission, authors will be asked to enter their abstract text directly into the required structured fields and to provide information on authors, affiliations, theme selection, ethical approval, informed consent, funding, and conflicts of interest.
All abstracts must be submitted in English. If accepted, all presentations and posters must also be prepared and presented in English.
By submitting an abstract, the submitting author confirms that all co-authors have approved the submission and that the presenting author is willing and able to present the abstract at LIMSC 2027 if accepted.

The LIMSC Scientific Committee will determine the final presentation format based on reviewer scores, scientific quality, relevance to the conference programme, theme distribution, and available presentation slots. Authors may be asked to indicate a preferred presentation format during submission. However, this preference cannot be guaranteed.
Both oral and digital poster presentations are considered valuable scientific contributions to LIMSC 2027 and are eligible for presentation awards.
Oral presentations
Oral presentations will take place during thematic scientific sessions at LIMSC 2027. Presenting authors selected for an oral presentation will give an eight-minute presentation, followed by two minutes of questions and discussion.
